lol, if you feel the seat by the seam in the middle of the seat.. you can feel the little sensor. It kinda feels like foil or something...

That stupid thing goes off half the time when my bag is there. Sometimes its not so much weight but where it is poking into the seat.

Maybe the xA is different, but the xB has a big spot right in the center of the climate control center that says PASSENGER and has the little symbol of a guy and a seatbelt, so it wasn't a big surprise...

the indicator is below the climate controls (above it?)...it isn't really noticeable, imo...

Sorry I ordered my car on feb 22, picked it up on 3/11, and only drove it about 4 times since I had it... I usually drive my civic or mx3, since the scion is too slow.

the only thing that sucks is when you put something heavy in your seat and the light doesn't go off.

if you want to disable the sensor, just look under the seat, and there is a air pressure tube thats connected to the seat. just pop off the tube and voila...no more idiot light!

The sensor allows the car to know if there is a passenger or not. Usually if it detects weight but no one plugs in that seat belt it turns the passenger side airbag off. The reason I suspect is if you get in an accident and you have no passenger there is no point for the air bag to go off. And that $1000 for a new passenger air bag could be the difference between a car being fixed or deemed totaled.

Actually I think the sensor is there to prevent the bag going off if there is an unbelted passenger sitting there, since an airbag can be dangerous to people not restrained by a seat belt (they can get too close to the bag.)
