Default Portable Navigation

I am considering getting a portable nav unit, and I was wondering if anyone has any pics of where they have mounted theirs.

or if you have a laptop, you can simply buy the package called Microsoft Streets and Trips 2007 with GPS locator. this software, installed on your laptop, will give you gps functionality as well as a ton of other key benefits.

this is a $80 option assuming you have a laptop already.

click the link in my signature below to check out my navigation setup. best of luck,

Garmin C320... bottom of the line, but very durable. I use it in my xB and my patrol car every day. Been dropped several times and it's still fine. A+!

I would like to get one and maybe mount it to my dash or in my sun visor.

I am running a Garmin C320 as well. IT was $199 shipped at Frys.com. The unit works great, in fact I just went on a road trip from So. Cal to Colorado - no issues at all. It even had all the dirt roads that I had to travel on.
I will post a pic later of where I have the unit mounted.

I can tell you that i use for both work and play a Garmin 530. For work i set it up for trucks and 99% of the time its dead on. For personal use i change it over to car/motorcycle and its just as good.

I like the Garmin ... although i do have some issues to post.

My personal Garmin lead me to an intirely deifferent area once. I ended up going 5 miles in the wrong direction. To the best of my knowledge i didnt enter the wrong information, my unit just had a hick-up.

Now i just got back from a vacation to Vegas and used a Garmin with my Alamo car rental. The reception was middle of the road at best. I wasnt impressed at all and on a couple of occasions i wanted to toss the dam thing out the window! But i still stand behind the Garmin ... it has proven itself more then any other unit i have heard.

Forgot to get a better picture, but here you can see where I mounted my Garmin C320 - works well for both driver and co-pilot! Of course with the GPS mounted you lose 1 cup holder...

I have a TomTom GO 700, mounted as in the pic immediately above.

Got it on eBay for $275...reconditioned, but came with a one-year warranty from TomTom and works great.
