Default rear fold down seat HEAVY!!!

is it me or just the rear fold down seat on the XA's super heavy. i'm talking about 60 part on the 40/60 folding seats. it feels like there's solid metal inside of the seats. anyone noticed?

I didn't notice that at all. Maybe you just grabbed it from a bad angle?

I'd say it's on the lighter end of fold down rears. Definitely nowhere as heavy as what you'd find on big sedans or SUVs, and I can easily one-hand lift/lower the baby from the rear hatch opening.

Pushing it down is easy - pull up one lever, push the back and it falls right down.
(watch it! you must set the front seat forward enough so that the headrest clears the back of the passenger seat)

Pulling it up is just as easy, climb in a bit, grab the top of the back, and lever it back up as you lean back (don't just pull with your arm, the leverage isn't there for most people - and it's safe to use the entire body as a dead weight). Either that or simply open the rear side door, and flip it back up.

At first, it was hard to get the hang of where to hold the rear seat to lever it back up from the hatch opening - probably what you're experiencing now. But after I got the hang of it (a few tries), it's easier than can be and I never have to go from the side anymore.

Overall, feels like pull up a 20-25lbs object when lifting the rear up again. Nothing I'd say difficult or tought (for me; and male).

If you want to talk about heavy, try moving one of those removable seats in the old Astros and Safaris! You can break your back trying to work it by yourself

yeah i think it was the postion i lift the seats made them feel extra heavy. i was seating in the front and reach out my right arm to the back and tried to flip it up to the up right postion. it's easier to open the rear door and do it.

Maybe that's the problem. When I get done with a good workout, a freakin' pencil feels heavy for a while.

From the front?!? No wonder! Not only does the xA has too small gap between the seats to reach anything on the rear seat, you also get no leverage to push that baby back up. I wouldn't bother too many times or you'll hurt yourself. Also, make sure the seat belts are in their clipped position.
