rear seat sit uncomfortably?
ever since i got the xB, my sister always _____es about how uncomfortable is the rear seat. well, when i was sick on Thursday, i asked my mom to drive the xB, so it was my first time to sit on the back while going to places. well, my sister was right, it was very uncomfortable. the angle of the seat is like 75 to 80 degrees. so my question is: can i make the seat to have a 65 to 70 degree angle on it? i would make my own brackets if its easy to do. your thoughts?

Heheheheheh...
I agree, if anyone doesn't like the seating accomodations in my xB they can get out and walk. :D
'Sides, they're not supposed to be takin' a nap back there - the seat's made to SIT in.
(Actually the rear seating feels fine to me, but then I'm one of those odd folks with actual, legit back problems, and I run the driver's seat nearly vertical...)

I like the rear seats...not in them much since it's MY car but if people want to complain about uncomfortable, they should try sitting in my old Firebird's rear bucket seats... talk about a whole lotta suck...... besides they can always sit on the floor if they don't like the xb's rear seats

I think it's great that you want to make your passengers comfy but I don't think it would be a simple mod. My first thought was just to move the upper bar back but all the plastic behind the seat is contoured around it's current position so it can't just lean back further. That means you'd have to relocate the lower mounts. I don't remember how everything looks behind the panel but I don't think it'd be easy and you'd lose seat space.
I would also recommend the pillow idea.

The rear seat might not be super cushy, but I think it's fine. Plus, it has more rear seat leg room than any car I've been in (other than a limo). Personally, I'd sacrafice a little cush to have room to strech my legs out. Better that than a soft seat and my legs all cramped.

even if they did which they dont you cannot recline the seats because the rear shock towers are in the way.
if you want comfortable reclineable rear seats do racing seats . since you can push them towards the middle you can recline them whilst not hitting the rear towers. bam!!! now get cranking. racing seats range from oh say 300 a pair up to like 1200 a pair . plus the custom fabrication and carpeting/ whatever to make it look finish. so probably a 800-2500 dollar project. but it'll be fun and awesome. hell you could mod some xB front seats to fit and it'd be alot more oem. as well as a few hundred cheaper if u can find it cheaper

if you take the bracket mounts out (they're bolted in behind the plastic side panel), the seats will lean back about 3-4" more. They don't lock into place any longer, but they'll lean back. - If you can weld, you can easily make new elongated brackets so the seats will still lock into place.
