Im having some gas mileage problem, but Im still getting better gas mileage than my last car.

All-in-all - no regrets, just sad I cant mod it yet.

Please post in the gas mileage thread... type of transmission, wheels, tires, any mods you've made, type of driving, and how you calculate mpg. Let's see if we can find a common cause. I'm getting great mileage on my box, but I'm curious on what is causing others to experience this problem.

Yep, as most of you know, my biggest gripe in the mpg too. HOWEVER. When I look at the other cars out there that I "might" consider buying and trade in my box, I can't find anything better that fits my needs and remains affordable and with even this good gas milage.

So yeah, the car doesn't sip gas like my old car, yeah, on really bad days it only gets 24 mpg, on good days it gets 29 in the city. Compared to other cars I might consider buying, its still the best deal out there.

I'm also wondering if the Automatic is suffering worse than the manual in the mpg dept. I think that the testers didn't take a lot of variable into consideration when testing the automatic. JMHO.

I drove both the auto and manual when I tested out the box. I have driven manual my entire driving career and prefer it to auto. However, I did not like the feel of the manual when I tested it out and got auto instead. Had I known about the short-shifter option, perhaps I shoudl have purchased the manual and installed the short-shifter... dunno.

After all of that, I basically really like my box. It fits my needs to lug around the dogs and their dog-show stuff and fit several oversized friends in the car when needed.

i get good gas mileage.... its only 20$ to fill tank and last me almost all week and i drive about 40 miles a day.
That's not Miles Per Gallon, that's Dollars Per Week.
