Default Remove rear seats?

Howdy-

I'm the tall guy thinking about an xB and I'm wondering if anyone has removed the rear seats from one for the cargo van set up. I'm in the bike business and it would be cool to have the room. we don't have kids or friends so I could take them out and leave them out.

Thoughts?

Dave

You can remove them. They just bolt in. They do make a bike rack for the roof though.

Sweet! I didn't notice that on the test-drive... how do they come out? What do you mean by bolted? Is it easily accessible or just happens to be held in by bolts and can be removed like on most hatches? Pics???

I don't think I want to put the bikes on the roof. I make handbuilt custom bike frames and they cost a pretty pennie and I don't want them covered with bugs or stolen. So in my life the bikes go inside.

When the seats come out is the floor flat or flatish?

If you took the seats out it wouldn't be flat. The seats do lay flat down though... which gives you quite a bit of room. If you want to remove them though, it shouldn't be too difficult.

I suggest laying the seats flat. You have plenty of room for a bike frame then. Atleast this way the floor would be flat. If the seats were out you wouldn't have this.
