Import a bb that'll be tight. Do you know any military folks japan bound?
The rule is if you take a toyota over you have to bring one back. Thats how i understand it.

If you really want that, I know somebody that has one in the US and it's for sale. I don't know how much, but I'll ask, I think last time I checked he wanted something in the ball park of $10,000.

Toll bridges and fast food drive thrus will be interesting in a rhd car also. There is no "kit" per se to convert the xB to rhd because, if there was, then it wouldn't be unique, which is what you're after. I think lots of time and effort and money and headaches can be saved trying to make your own usdm xB unique in other ways, vs. trying to deal with importing and registering a jdm bB. And even if you do get the car over here, IF you run into issues trying to reg the car, you'll end up having a piece of $10000-15000 metal sitting in your garage for a loooong time as you try and work through all the bs in trying to get it totally legal to drive.

I converted my LHD 01 Mercury Cougar to RHD. Granted it is a show car but I did the conversion myself... Once you get all the parts, its not that hard of an install.

I can see why you would [i]want[i] to convert a car to RHD, but I really really do not understand why someone would actually go through with this.

There is just no reason to spend this much time and money making your car different.

It won't be moving you around after you're done, what with the legal issues and everything.
