The stock shocks are overly stiff and make the ride of the box juddery and overly brutal. The Sensatracs are variable rate shocks and have a "soft" rate in the middle of their travel. This allows one to pass over tar strips, road joints, small irregularities, chunks of gravel, etc., without jarring your fillings out, but stifen up to about the same as the OE shocks when moved out of that small central range of their movement.
The ride is much improved for ALL in the vehicle, with very very little loss in handling from being soft for very small movements.
This also means that when the vehicle is more loaded (passengers in the rear, heavy load in the rear, etc.) the Sensatracs move into their stiff range, and handle the change in load just fine.
Cheap and easy mod for a lot of good change.

Going to downtown LA for a concert at the Wiltern. I already have the arm rest, but I couldn't imagine not having it.
We're leaving in 3 days, so changing the shocks isn't really an option until I get back, but seems like a good idea anyways.
