Give this copy I made of the manual a try, OK? :D

Enjoy!

{EDIT}
Oops! Just had to fix the URL... NOW it should lead you to the PDF of the manual... Lemme know if it doesn't work again. I was cleaning up some stuff on the server and got carried away.

*sigh*

If you are THAT lazy you NEED to turn the passive arming on...

Passive arming means after you turn the ignition off, remove the key, and open doors, if you forget to arm the alarm manually it will arm itself automatically after you close the last door.

You have a choice of delays - on mine I chose 30 seconds. That allows me to get out, close the driver's door, walk around to the back, and open the hatch (resetting the delay). When I'm finally through fooling around, and leave all the doors shut for at least thirty seconds, the alarm is armed and will go off if anyone opens a door, etc.

Sometimes I HAVE forgotten to lock up after unloading stuff. It's nice that the box at least tries to protect itself then.

(It's also amusing when the xB is in for an oil change or whatever... :D )

If it is the standard Toyota VIP alarm for the xB, there is no 'chirp.'

The actual alarm from an intrusion is horn and lights and is delayed by 0, 15, or 30 seconds, depending on passive alarm settings, when triggered.

If manually armed, the response should be immediate.

See page 4 of the PDF linked to above...
