Default Scion xB Rear Bumper Applique?? What do you think?

Don't laugh. The only 'upgrade' or 'mod' I have are the mats. I'm a father. I wish I was ten years older and had the money, and was single -- then I'd pimp my ride straight to hell.
But I'm happy for now. EXCEPT, I'm thinking I would like the bumper applique. I usually don't like appliques b/c they look cheap, don't last, etc.

Anyone have this? Does it last? Does it look like quality? Easy on and off?

Thanks much. Help me into this mod world. Who knows, I may move on to bigger and better things.

Default I like it..

I like it too, depends on what color you have but it seems to stand out on my TCM xB and on the White xBs I've seen.

It looks nice though gives a little more contrast to the bumper area.

I was actually thinking about getting one...

I don't think they look too bad, and they protect the bumper...

The top of the bumper looks like it could get scratched easily... might as well get one, they are pretty cheap on eGay...

Pimpin knows no age restraints. I'm married with children... Not that I'm pimpin but you get my drift...

I don't like it. It has so far been unneeded, gets wax in it real easy and out - not so easy... It's quality, if it didn't seem to be on so good, I'd peel it off probably. It's just low grit griptape with holes in it...

As an option I just put a cargo liner in my xB that part of it flips out to protect the bumper.

I like it, but mostly for the look. Can't say it does much. And, I find air bubbles from time to time, which push out easy enough...

It's something to have.

I've got it, it looks fine and serves its purpose well.

However, it is absolutely correct that it is nothing more than an overpriced piece of grip tape. An industrious individual could probably make a close approximation (minus the circle patterns) using $7 worth of grip tape from Home Depot and a straight razor.

I just included it in my short list of accessories when I bought the car as I didn't want to scuff the rear bumper loading and unloading things a week after I had the car. Turned out to be the right choice for me.

i think it looks ugly and it is a royal pain once u accidently get wax on , just be careful about that , and it probably saves a few scratches but who knows , most of my scratches and nicks are on the edge of the bumper. the roll u know what i mean? nm but yeah i only have like 1 or 2 small scratches on the top of the bumper where the applque goes. to each their own

I've got it too and I like it. Yeah it's 3M grip tape, couldn't used on my skate board! But I think it looks good!

After I saw what it was, I passed. The bumper is so low, I can't imaging anything you'd have to rest on the bumper before putting it in the car.

Does anyone own the bB Chrome Step guard? It's another alternative to the rear bumper applique and seems to protect it more. I was thinking about getting it but wanted some feedback.

The cargo liner is about the same price, and doesnt hold wax in those little holes when your done. The liner just flips out, is water proof, and covers the backs of the rear seats when folded down. Well worth the $75 i paid for it.

I'm 46 and i'm telling you the Rear Applique is OK. I mean dull. It's not really there as a mod but mostly an option.

The bB Chrome Step Guard is a cool mod, cheap, VISUAL. don''t waste your $$$$ on suck egg mods.

But if I bought that chrome cover, I'd be MORE afraid of scuffing it...

I ahve this on my Camo box and it seems to be OK, I like the looks of it, but have not tried waxing yet so I'm not sure how that will work out. It does seem to hold the salt from the road really well, lol
