If it cracked over the weekend wile sitting I would think that was just a defective window. There is nothing that would have caused the crack except for the sun and other elements.
I'm leaning toward the curve of the glass isn't matching up with the framework. Causing the windshield to flex right off the bat. When it gets glued in place that is when the stress starts.
Have they tried to do a dry fit with feeler gauges to see if the curves match?

Don't forget that I also have service managers from other dealerships telling me it is a known issue and that the reason it cracks is from the frame flexing in the heat. One of the managers was standing next to one when it happened. This happened several times when my car was just parked, so I really can't say that it was a defective window. If they thought they had any chance to blame it on the glass they would have, actually they tried, but I had too much evidence to prove otherwise. They know about it, they are just keeping quiet.

What is the evidence the frame is warping in the sun enough to distort the window frame? Has there been a measurement of the distortion?

Step back and look at this for a moment. If Toyota/Scion knew there was not an issue with the xB windshields why would they fold on the first letter my attorney sent them stating he was going to be handling my case and if they would like to settle now they had that option. If they knew it was not a defect in the xB then they would have fought the case and taken me to court. They would have spent all of their money on the lawyers they have on retainer because they would have known I would have had a snowball's chance in hell of winning. Instead they get one letter from an attorney and call it quits. Seems pretty interesting to me.

On the xB, the first pit often becomes a focal point allowing the windshield to relieve itself of the stress the car places on it. The pit allows a crack to start.
But many xB windshields do not wait for a pit to relieve their stress. They crack under thermal stress of hot sun or cold wash water, or even for no apparent reason at all.

Wouldn't the heat make the window softer and less likely to crack?

What is amusing is how he states he will never purchase a Toyota or Scion again after he explains it all boils down to money.
Mitsu is going to do the same thing with him if he were to have his issue. EVERY manufacture will do that and will continue to do that.
Maybe it's the bad taste left in his mouth I don't know, but if you're going to get upset with one corporation over this get upset with them all.

Why would I get upset with Mitsubishi over my Scion xB having stress cracks? That doesn't even make sense. Mitsubishi didn’t design the xB or have anything to do with Toyota/Scion. That would be like me being mad at Burger King because the mayonnaise at McDonald’s was bad and gave me ecoli.
This thing wasn't about money at all, since I wasn't paying anything to have the windshields replaced. It was about an obvious defect in the car that Toyota was unwilling to acknowledge and address until I decided to get an attorney. They know about the issue, they are just keeping quiet about it and payingoff the people who get serious and hire an attorney. What caused me to do this was the amount of stress that was placed on me unfairly. I never asked for a dime from them, only that they take back the lemon of a car and release me from my contract.
I still think it is interesting that Toyota “didn’t know anything” about this issue when I brought it up 2 months prior, but basically threw in the towel once an attorney got involved. If they really didn’t know about this issue they would have called me on it and taken me to court to fight it. Instead they get one letter from an attorney telling them he is handling my case and they give up. He didn’t even file a complaint in court, they just quit. Why? Why would a company do this? They hadn’t even seen my evidence yet and were only told about two of the audio clips I had in the letter they received. I had close to a dozen or more audio recording and they didn’t listen to a single one. That right there should tell you something.
The only thing they ever saw from me was my complaint letter sent via registered mail, which included all of the online documentation I had printed out. They saw no photos, heard no audio, and decided to call it quits. Does that sound like something someone would do if they thought any part of your story was bogus? Does that sound like something someone would do if they thought they had any chance to not lose $25,000? No, it doesn’t and it doesn’t add up either.
You can make your own judgments’, but if you seriously look at the story and look at the outcome you can clearly see that something isn’t adding up just by using common sense. No company would repurchase a vehicle and assume responsibility for the defect if there is anyway they can fight it.
I don’t expect my Mitsubishi to have this problem. Why? It is NOT a Scion xB. Saying that if I hate one car manufacturer I should hate them all is just insane. Was it Ford’s fault my xB was flawed? Was it Nissan’s fault my xB was flawed? Was it BMW’s fault my xB was flawed? No, it is none of their fault and only Toyota’s. Why will I never purchase a Toyota/Scion again? It was some shady business I went through and it was Toyota’s fault it was so shady. If they would have confessed to begin with I would have happily moved over to a tC, but they wanted to jack around with me by playing game and acting like they didn’t know what was going on. They are to blame. They admitted they were to blame when they repurchased the car. They are the ones I blame and rightly so. You can’t argue with them, even they agree with me.
