I would never smoke my headlights, bad bad bad news for cop patrol. You can however paint the bottom and top reflector. It will not change the beam pattern and it looks awsome.

Default Smoked Lightz ......

I do not drive my XB, only really take it out for shows ........ I have my back lights smoked already and just sent out the Headlights, Foglights and Side Markers to have them smoked with a lighter shade ......

I stumbled across a company over in California that does a super job on this type of work .........

His name is Tony @ Smoked Lightz, his website and contact info is listed on his page, give him a call or even send him an email .......... I think you will be impressed.

I will post pics as soon as they come back !

my friend tinted the mirroring inside the housing and it looks really tight you can do it yourself and get the tinting at home depot.

hehe, grizzly beat me to it. Check that link above for more info on the ClearGuards. They are thick enough to provide rock chip protection, not just smoked look. And since I had to have my headlamps replaced from little cracks in the plastic (warranty-covered), I think protecting them is important.

It's not illegal... UNLESS you get caught... Don't worry, I've got my cover story prepared.

It just looks too damn sexy to not do it now. BTW, I've got smoked fogs too, although you can't hardly tell in this pic:

I'm running the brighter headlight bulbs so that helps some but I'd guess maybe 20-30% loss. 95% of my driving is on the freeway or city streets, so it's not like I'm driving blind. i did notice it more when i was out on Niles canyon Road by myself.

Contact Rockblocker....He posts here or you can go to www.rockblocker.com. He's got colored film that goes over your headlights that look great.

Check out this link https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=61045

this is an example of yellow and blue film. I know that he even has smoked. It looks great.

Looks good, but I wouldn't want to decrease my light output. Then again if your drinving mostly in well lit streets, then I guess it all works out.

We do offer a smoked film for the headlights, fog lights and tail lights but do not recommend using a smoked film since it will decrease the light output on the headlights. Blue, yellow or clear is more preferred and it will not reduce the light output. A lot of our blue customers say they can see better at night with them.

Our product is actually a headlight protection film to prevent pitting and breakage of the light. If we can help with anything else let us know.

I'm all about painting the inside. You get the look, but keep your light output.

well here is the thing, i am all about making the look that i want, but i am not all about breaking laws. not because i care about tickets and stuff, i have just had enough harrasment by police in my earlier years that i have given up on causeing trouble.

i want it but don't want to get harrassed for it. what to do . . .
