If you change the plugs regularely, go with stock( their cheaper).
Most dealers change them to Iridium @100k,as suggested in the owners manual

I'd stay with stock as well. I was considering this myself a while back, and ultimately went with OEM replacements. The increase in cost for higher-end plugs are not worth it IMHO. The only reason I would say to upgrade the plugs on an xB is if you have done heavy modifications like forced induction.

I went to ngk.com, should I get the IX iridium plug (part number BKR5EIX; for a 2002 echo) or the Iridium plug (part number IFR5T11; for a 2002 echo)?
Another question: Ive seen some of your other posts about the gapping for the iridium plugs, ngk says gap at .32 and you suggest the .44, whats your angle on that? Thanks.

Only plugs that need the .044 gap are the Denso Iridium plugs because of their very different electrode shape.
