Sticky Gas Pedal?
I've been having my gas pedal stick but only sometimes. It seems to only do it after coasting awhile or sitting at a red light. You have to literally tap it real hard to get it to move from fully closed. I've checked the cable and pedal assm.. Also checked out the throttlebody but could find no reason for the sticking.
Anyone else ever experience this and if so what ended up causing it? Thanks

something like this happened with i put a performance throttle body on my old explorer, it wouldn't close all the way, so i'd be sitting at like 1500 rpms with the brakes to the floor keeping the truck from moving.
so the throttle body doesn't stick at all when you open and close it? and there isn't anything with the pedal wrong. could it be the throttle positioning sensor?
is the pedal not actually releasing, or is the throttle just not completely closing?

I can't seem to recreate the sticking when it's not running. It sticks enough so you know it doesn't move as freely as usual. You have to tap it hard with your foot to break it loose then after that it won't do it again till you coast a long way or sit idle at a light. But not all the time. It's a weird feeling to go and take off having to push real hard on the gas and not knowing if it will move easy or hard. It makes for some jerky take offs sometimes.

Sticky Gas Pedal
My GMC used to do this. Found out from the dealership that the throttle body gets a buildup in it causing it to stick. Good washing with carb cleaner usually took care of it for several thousand miles. Could not see the buildup with throttle closed, only after opening throttle.

Def not the floor mat. Also checked to make sure the TB was clean. The TB moves freely with no problems when engine is off.
I'm going to go mess with it some more. Maybe I'll get lucky and find something I missed.

I messed with it and it appears that the blade is sticking to the bore in the TB. I cleaned it out and that did nothing. I actually coated the inside with a film of grease and it seemed to help. Will have to roadtest one day to see if this cures it.
