I vote no on the spinners. But, I do agree that throwing out $700 worth of steel and rubber and buying $2000 worth just to change your look is frivolous. Typically american, though. Gluttons!

Your satire and sarcasm is quite bad. Just quit. No one can recognize that you are being sarcastic or satirical.. at all. In fact, a few days ago you posted reasons not to mod your car. Of course, you were eventaully flamed, but you then responded that you were being sarcastic..sigh.

Alloy wheels are so common that they are no longer interesting. I realized this as I was searching through thousands of wheel options. After a while it started to blur and it seemed like they're all just subtle variations on a half dozen ideas. Yawn. That's when I started looking for something totally different -- or at least uncommon.
The only times anyone has ever commented on my wheels was when I put old skool American Racing 200S mags on my Sonoma (at a time everyone was going for billet) and when I put full moons on my xB. And the moons only cost me $80. I love 'em, but if I ever get tired of them, or if they get damaged, no big deal.
But the world is filled with people who are more comfortable following trends than departing from them. It's kind of odd, though, that people who own something as out of the mainstream as an xB would still fall back on mainstream modifications. Like the old gag says, we're all nonconforming, but in the same way.

and for stock steelies being best.... tell ANY racing team that..... I went to a set of 205/45-17's that were MUCH heaver than stock, yes the rides a lil more bumpier, but the over all handling is better by 10 fold!! I could care less about ride, if i was all about the ride, i'd be in a lincon or a cadi right now. But i'd rather be able to cut some corners than be able to fall asleep in some modile couch....

A brand new stock xb PLUS a set of $2000 wheels and tires is still a much better value than any competitor of the xb's, Honda, Nissan, other Toyotas, whatever. The rest comes down to individual taste. I myself prefer the look of a nice set of wheels. Most hubcaps these days are designed to look like fake wheels. I'd rather have the real thing.
