tired of seeing XBs

tired of seeing XBs
...used as moving billboards. What the hell is it about XBs that make people want to wrap them in advertisements? Sure, they're flat on the sides and back, but so are minivans, and I don't see them wrapped in advertisments all the time! If I see another XB with crap about housecleaning services or sign shops, I'm gonna puke. I live in Atlanta, and it seems like every other XB I see has a full body wrap on it!
P.S. Don't even go there about my Avatar. Racing decals are completely different than full body wraps with 1-800 numbers for maid services!

Advertising is advertising my friend.

I can understand why someone (no one in particular) who has their ego invested in their car would be bothered by public perception that the main message their car sends is "your ad here."
I agree that there are days when it seems like most of the boxes I see are company cars, some wrapped and many more with big logos all over them. And of course, these cars spend many more hours per day on the road, so their presence is magnified.
Has there ever been another car with this combination of economy, reliability, and large flat surfaces? I wonder if this factored into the re-design?

I don't get why people get bent out of shape when someone does something other than the standard rims/tint/exhaust. It's their car who cares what they do with it! It's cool when you see another heavily modded scion, but for the most part you are going to see kids whose parents bought them a cheap car or older folks that like the gas milage.

I was actually just thinking about this on the way home from work this morning. I have seen 3 xB's in the past couple days (which is more than I have seen in the past 6 months prior) but each one of them had an ad on it.

2) There are a ton of astrovans and econolines out there with full body wraps. You just don't notice it as much as the xBs. Usually the xBs are small things, (maid service?) while the Astros and econolines are things like plumbers and construction

The idea of advertising is for it to be noticed, and since the xB is "noticed" by the public even stock, straight from the dealer, it has a lot going for it as a sign carrier: If people are going to stare anyway, might as well have your ad where they're looking, eh?
Add in low first cost, good insurance rates, reliability, versatility, economy, and resale, it is an obvious good match.
It doesn't bother me to see business xBs with advertising - to me it shows that the business is heads-up at least in some ways. One of our local florists has xBs scurrying around delivering flowers (Crane's Creations), and just because of that I'd lean toward giving them my business.
The xBs that tend to bother me are the poor little lost ones that are filthy and bent, being abused by their owners...

There aren't stripper versions of the xB for business fleet buyers, so it's no problem for me. At least they won't do destructive mods like rear wiper delete and removing the airbag for a racing wheel. The advertising wrap is just paint protection!
