You would have to take the power wire and route it to a switch. This would prolly mean that you would have to route a new power wire because if it's factory, then it's already got a switch. And if it already has a switch then it's prolly being powered with the same power as your lights....
I am assuming you want to be able to turn them on without any other lights.

right. or even just on with the running lights.... i want them on when i got my running lights on, so i figured might as well let them go on whenever i want.... is this impossible/hard/too much work for little payout?

There's a couple of different ways... Using an extra relay is your best bet.

It might be illegal if they are technically considered "driving lights"
I know that's the case with my Bimmer.
you can run headlights and driving lights, or headlights alone, but not driving lights alone.
the electricals are wired that way to make it so you can't turn them on alone.

I did this when I had my JDM fogs on my previous XB- It is possible, it is a _____ to do but once done it is nice to use as DRL's. I powered mine to the cigarette lighter. Use this as an example- this was the thread I used as reference for my re-wiring. Good luck to ya man! https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...548&highlight=

I run mine all day. Most cops don't know that rule.
The xB's lights are kinda high up, and white (when stock bulbs are used) so they don't really look like "fog lights". People who get tickets for running fogs during the day usually have the lower, smaller, yellow fogs... While still technically illegal, the xB's lights do look more like DRLs.
I've never had a problem.

I didn't know that it was illegal to do that. I am not really sure that it is - Some GMs come with day time running lights... So my feeling is that fog lights can be considered running lights. Where did you hear that anyways? I'm not doubting you, I am just curious.
Acutally, I think the easiest way would be to not use a relay. Instead of using a relay, you can simply connect the black wire to the ground of your parking lights. That way, the only come on when your parking lights are on and when the car turns off, so do the fog lights.
But if you really want the relay, the Bosch SPDT Relay is the name of the relay. They said that you can get them at radio shack... at least Doc did. If you go there, just ask to see the relays. If you prefer to not shop at radio shack, you can always try to google it. I am sure it can't be much to ship such a small item.
If you need help with this, PM and I will try to walk you through it.
