Default What is the best FM transmitter for less than $50.00?

Hey everyone I am finally decided on the fact that I will be using my $30.00 in Amazon gift cards to purchase an FM transmitter, but I need some advice on what to buy. I was looking at either the iRiver AFT 100 Mobile FM Transmitter or the Virtual Reality Sound Labs Mod Pod Wireless 4 in 1 Power Inverter and FM Transmitter. What have you used that seems to transmit the best? The reason I am going the FM transmitter route instead of installing the cables is basically because I dont have $120 to spend on hooking this up. So there you have it....please let me know your advice. Thanks!

Is what a head unit? They are FM transmitters that plug into your cigarette lighter and then into your MP3 player to transmit a signal to your car stereo.

they all suck , mostly cause most any even remotely populated area has SOOO many radio stations now that it's darn hard to find a clear station to work with , and if you do it probably won't last very long.

get a pioneer deck and then buy the lil 30 dollar aux input cable.

charge the ipod while you listen

or with craptacular stock deck you can get the cables to hook it up for much less than 120.00

I agree with hotbox05. I tried one a few months ago and it sucked hard. Just get a 100 dollar Sony HU from walmart that has an aux. jack

Thanks guys I appreciate your help.... especially the links, but the only problem is that I have a Creative Zen Micro 6GB so the units you sent me will not work.

Well after going by the links provided I found http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=180152289221 but the only thing I see with this is that the plugs for the back of the head unit plug into your cd changer port....and so I am left wondering if you can use your cd player still while this is plugged in? Has anyone used it?

you can use your cd player , just not a cd changer and they make these with just an aux cable input .

Well I just ordered this off of Ebay, but now the only question is where to put everything? And does anyone know if you can control your MP3 player from the radio with this?

No, it's just a simple audio connection. To control your player you would need (1) a USB connection and (2) a head unit that can upload software for specific MP3 players. The reason some HU's can control iPods is that there are so many iPods in the world that it's become cost-effective to actually build iPod-specific software and connectors into head units. I doubt that will ever happen for any other brand of player.

Thank you so much for the insight on this! Do you happen to have this installed? If so where did you run the cable through? Did you drill into the cubby hole?
