Default What is the Button in the Center Console?

I've a '04 xB and I want to know what the On/Off (I/O) Button controls in the Center Console (floor by the gear shift)?

could be the illumination switch for your neon lights..........or if u have an automatic, it is your overdrive button on the shifter. Just play around with ur Box........that is what I did.

On the RS1s that is where the illumination switch is, and its labled just that. If you bought used, it could be for a number of things.

I believe he is talking about the lil white button under the corner of the top right side where the shifter is. You have to pull the lil tab to see it. I was wondering the same thing.

If youre talking about the button that is inside a little square you may be referencing the "shift lockout" button. If you lost the keys you can press that button to shift the car out of park and into neutral so you can tow it or at least move it. Thats my guess but again, the question is useless without a pic or much better description....

Geezch! Give a guy a chance to get the pic and post it already!

I figured that it was something pretty common and that the Scion users would know without seeing a pic. Below is a link to the pic. Thanks!

Sorry..........I thought u found out or something. Well, looking at the pic, I have no clue. I make a stock/virgin box. That button seems like it is aftermarket. It doesn't seem like a Scion accessory, to me, lol.

Anyone?????

it could be lights in or out of the car or maybe for a audio component that was taken out.

No, I don't see anything inside the car that comes on but I've not looked in the engine compartment nor the exterior of the car. I'll take a look around this weekend and see if I can figure out what it belongs to.

Heated mirrors? Does Scion offer this option?

Thanks all!

I doubt it. Unless its a customize item offered outside of Scion.
Since its old (not sure if u bought it used), the previous owner must have put some lights and then took it off prior to selling it.

I just thinking maybe its just a useless button.

The only thing located in that area is the backup light switch and the VSC sensor so maybe it turns it off so you can spin it around without stability control kicking in on the brakes.
