What does bB mean?

of course D M A N! i'm not flaming i'm just putting my opinion out there. There's a lot of places to get them but i'd stay away from eBay . my mom got me some from eBay and well lets just say it wasn't the right adhesive and the adhesive is starting to come away from the emblem so i'm gonna get the real one for the rear soon. myautofashion.com, newscionparts.com, and cabeperformance.com all have bB emblems and they're the real ones BTW!

The frustrating thing for me is that ordinarily I'd love the JDM logo and all that jazz, but I just don't care for the bB logo. I love the round Fabulous badge, but not at that price (10,000 yen?!). The ist logo I really like... but not the bB. Sigh.

Fabulous North America.
Fabulous Japan.
Unfortunately, the US price is pretty much in line with the Japanese price - 100bux or thereabouts.

i dont think it means a thing. its just two letters that look good together. think of ot this way
what does the Acura TSX, NSX, TL, RL, RSX stand for
or any of the Volvo cars? their just letters to me
the bB logo looks better to me than the xB logo IMO

It means Black Box, or so my Japanese wife tells me.
I removed my rear emblems and got a bB badge for my grill within one week of getting my xB. After staring at bB's for the past 6 years in the motherland the xB and Scion badging just look really out of place to me.
It's also kind of strange to me to see all of these other Japanese cars relabled as Lexus, Infinity, and Acura. I still call some cars by their Japanese names just because I can't remember the American ones. Marketing at work I guess......

I finally had to check this thread, after wondering what could possibly take two pages to explain about what might have been a one-reply answer.
Little did I realize there was pro- and anti-bB badging sentiment within our happy little community. I suppose every subculture needs its little tiffs now and then. As long as we all come together when someone disses our lack of side airbags.
Personally, I wouldn't put the bB font on a post-it note, let alone my car, but that's what you get for studying print and copy design. :: Yes, I'm talking about font elitism. Coming soon to a snooty intellectual circle near you!
My only concern with the bB-badging-movement is that it reminds me of the Gwen Stefani-esque anime catgirl-types who randomly interject Japanese adjectives into their day-to-day speech and consider themselves highly awesome. If you've ever walked past a SanRio in the mall and heard a 14-year-old girl squeal "KAWAIIII!" you know what I'm talking about. I feel like the next step is taking the LIFT down to the TUBE so we can hitch a ride to MACKEY'S, and frankly the English language is confusing enough as it stands.
The short answer is, of course, that if the steering wheel is on the left of the car, it is an xB. I'd normally support ignoring this little technicality, but that comes down from on high, i.e. the people who actually manufactured the cars, and I have a hard time arguing with Toyota on this one. ;)
Then again, I'm fully in favor of any measure that keeps non-Scion owners guessing about the true nature of our party toasters, so by all means, you have my support.
