I have Goldlines in mine and they're awesome. The ride is way different than stock, it is less ruff but a lot more stiffer and 2" all around. Seem to me more like 2" front and 1.8" in the back, but that's all good with me. The 25mph exits in the highway that I use to take at about 45-50, now I'm taking them at 60mph. Some people said that these cars have a lot of understeer and they're right, but it's just when taking off at a curv or turning at a light really fast. Now at the highway exits from 0 to 45mph it's all good. From 45 to 50 I feel a bit of understeer. From 50 to 60 it's even and from 60 to 65 (highest i've tried so far) it's all oversteer and it's kind of hard not to lose control over the car so, it's not good.

I'm using a new kind of spring company - called "stock" haha, just kidding. It is stock for now, but I am thinking about getting Goldlines or Tein's... any suggestions? Its winter now so I will order them now and drop it in the spring. Help me decide.

I'm running full TRD. Shocks, struts and springs. I love them. I rode stock for about two weeks before lowering. Ride is slightly stiffer in the straight line, cornerning is much improved. I didn't go lower as Minnesota roads seem "bouncier" and with the impending winter, I didn't want to become a snow plow.

thats wierd...i thought you would need the spring compressor to take out the stock springs. but wouldnt any aftermarket lowering springs be shorter than the stock ones so you can just screw the top of the stut without the compressor? maybe the tanabes are longer than the stock springs with less coils/ spring rate?

Tanabe have been the only ones that required a spring compressor, while shorter the loadding is different. A spring compressor is the safe way to pop the factory springs, but placing the strut between to tires works great. Don't go thinking that I am unsafe, I certainly wouldn't try this on 3\4 truck, but a dozen or so scion spring installs, I just thought I would share. Bill

I've only heard good things about Goldline springs from Scion owners. Other car owners say they are poop. Also, I've heard some scion owners bottom out with the Goldlines.
I'm probably going to get a set of TRD springs for my xA.

Also, do you know what your alignment is, or untouched since you bought the car?
These Goldlines sound pretty good. Anybody here find out what the weight are for the springs, front/rear? Curious of the weight difference between front to rear, and how stiff the rear is.

I'm also in the market for springs, but don't want a softer ride. I want the same stiffness, if not stiffer.
For those that don't know, the stiffer the string rates are in the rear, the more oversteer you'll get and a more neutral handling car since these cars are set up for heavy understeer.
I've just installed my rear swaybar, and I still could use more oversteer. I'm contimplating installing the rear strut tower along with something along the lines of those Teins. The front to rear ratio and the higher weight rear is attractive to me. Of the numbers given so far, those rears are the heaviest. Although the fr/rr ratio might not be as extreme as the Tanabe's, I don't want too soft for the front either.
I just read the following regarding Tien S-Techs,

" tein s-tech: pros- ride smooth, cons- too soft and they bottom out a lot on me "

I'm begining to think that Tein S-tech is not NOT the way to go for me, and I'd want something like 170 lbs/front 200lbs/rear.... or heavier!

i can finally say that im riding on tanabe springs...and no i didn't need a spring compressor to take the stock springs out. the ride now is amazing, and cornering has improved greatly...im still running on stock struts but i will changed them to trd's later...right now extremley satisfied.

ESPELIR or RSR? These companies are reputable I will give these to the community at a deal you can't refuse just so that there is some more testimony about these. Especially on xA.
