Default What's the use of a Battery Tie Down

I keep seeing these things all over ebay and other after market places. What is the point of this and how many hp will it add? As much as a huge TRD sticker on the back of our cars? JK...anyways...lemme know...

lol

exactly. It's just a dress part that replaces the stock tie down. The tie down is just to keep the battery in it's place "Stupid battery, don't you know how to listen? You can't be MY kid" you'll sometimes hear them say.

HA!. Got that beat by a mile. A plain ol' tie-down is for p*ssies

Who else has a entire billet CAGE for their optima?

There are a few on ebay - none like mine specifically, but some that aren't to bad looking (i might buy one of those too.. just so I can swap them around once in awhile )

*edit* - although, beware, if you have anything like an Injen intake or anything close to the battery area - you will have to do some not so simple modification and drilling to make everything in a battery cage fit correctly and bolt together, some to the car, some to the cage - including a completely new '+' terminal as the factory version will not fit an Optima battery

i happened to hate people that randomly put "Oh yea those stickers add 20 horsepower" or say "My battery tie down is worth 40 horsepower." Its stupid

I have done dynos on all these. Stickers only had 9 at the crank at most and the battery tie down is only worth 23 at the crank. Get your facts straight. Learn the numbers I have Scionlife stickers and Injen stickers... 9+9= 18 at the crank extra. No battery tie down so im a little slow right now.... but I do have a painted engine cover... which is more effective than nitrous in the power department. Get your facts straight

Stylis you might be suprised at the power gains.... its no Precision Muffler Axle Back System *Plug Plug Plug* but it still nets you 3 hp at the wheels :D

PS I have the stock exhaust so if you wanna hook me up.... haha
