Default When is the right time for a tune up?

I've got a 2005 Xb that has yet to have a tune up and I think I am at about 44,000 miles right now.

I've noticed it hasn't felt like its normal self here lately and was wondering if its time to do a full tune up or maybe just a couple little upgrades.

Also, I've noticed its been a little harder to shift into gears lately too.

change your plugs for a start, then see if it runs a bit smoother...

The dealer told me that the fuel filter should last the life of the car. Did I miss something?

Maybe I got it confused. My Corolla is still on the original fuel filter and at 169k miles or so.

The XB fuel filter is a lifetime filter, replacing this item is really a waste of money as I have never seen one cause a problem of any sort or diminsh performance.

If you have ever run your tank down to empty, it would be wise to replace the fuel filter as it likely picked up sediment. As long as you are using a "top tier" fuel, I wouldnt worry about replace the FF.

I do a "tuneup" once a year, and it includes replacing the spark plugs, cleaning the MAF/AIS and replacing the air filter.
