Default Where can I rent an xB?

Hi, I live in New Zealand own a Toyota bB (imported it from Japan) and will be in the U.S. in March. I'm looking for places which will rent me an xB. I'll be in Los Angeles first and want to drive up to San Fran. Later in my trip I'll want to pick up an xB in NYC and head down to Washington DC for a few days...

... am I dreaming, do any rental companies offer Scion xB's for rental? I hope so!

Your best bet MIGHT be a local Toyota/Scion dealer since some are actually renting Scions... A Google search on "scion rental" might turn up something, also.

Some rental companies appear to have the occasional Scion available, but I haven't seen any of the big national rental chains making a point of it.

Good luck!

It might be difficult to find places to rent an xB. Most car rental places usually have cars that have a wide appeal. Most are very common, generic vehicles that blend in and don't attract attention to themselves. The xB kind of stands out, and it's a "love it or hate it" vehicle.
I don't know what types of cars or what models are available in New Zealand, but I would imagine that there are several available here in the U.S. that you don't see over there. If you already own a bB/xB, it might be fun to rent something totally different while you're here. Just a thought.

Tracy Toyota/Scion rents them. In fact, I think they rent the whole Toyota line.

He has one to rent, but you haven't driven one yet? I would think if there was one on the lot, you could at least take it for a drive before ordering a new car.

What i meant was that local dealer has one to rent but I ordered one from a different dealer and aleast they don't charge Doc fee. The dealer that i bought from can't even keep them on the lot. so thats why.

A guy here in Orlando rented an xB from a luxury car dealership that rents Hummers, Bentleys, etc etc etc

What a wide range of cars they carry, huh?

I agree most Toyota dealers should have xB's for rent.

Thanks for the help everyone. Unfortunately I probably need to rent from a chain as I want to drive from Los Angeles to San Fran (and leave the car in SF), and also drive from NYC to DC (and leave the car in DC). Am looking into Zipcar but their daily rates look expensive ... very interesting concept though.

Looks like I might be mostly stuck with a regular rental car... damn I love my little Black Box!

It'd be kinda fun raggin' on either one of those!
He'll prolly end up with something boring like a Cobalt or Neon though.

Well sure....the SS is pretty sweet. But most car rental places aren't going to be stocking the SS model.
They probably only have base model Cobalts.

I highly doubt you can rent an SS It'd Be great if you could though. Rent one and run it at the strip.
