I think it was 2002 or 2003 when I first saw one. It was at the toyota center (thats what the basketball stadium is called here in houston) at a Rockets game inside the building.

I was walking through the lobby and saw it out of the corner of my eye, did a double take, and made my way over to it. It was a TCM box. Ahhh, I rember as if it were yesterday. I loved it immediatly.

I said, "what is that?" I saw the badge and said "Scion?"
My wife was like "thats neat".
I said "I want one, I'm going to get one some day".

Finally got mine this year in June on.

I've first heard of Scions in general from a friend on West Coast in the early 2000s who wanted to buy one when they became available.

My first xB sighting was in 2004 or 2005 in Manchester, NH. I saw the RS1 and I thought it was the fugliest thing on US roads.

But looking back, it has made a lasting impression and it grew on me.

My husband pointed one out to me while we were out driving and said he really, really wanted one. I told him it was the ugliest thing that I have seen, ever!

I warmed up to it fast after my father bought one. Now we own two.

1999 Misawa Air Base Japan. I was stationed there since 96' and left in 2000. I wanted to get one, Bb, but I had an 89 that's right 89 Galant VR-4 at the time and a Toyota Hilux Surf.

In person, at the 2004 minneapolis auto show. My wife and I were looking at a honda element, we were in need of a new vehicle and we liked those, though I didn't like that I couldn't get on in fwd instead of four wheel. unless I got the model with out the radio. Anyway my wife hated it, now we each drive an xB. We bought our first one aug of 04 for her since her chevy crapalier was dying and I bought mine last july.

Default First saw a Scion

They had a BSP box parked inside the mall in Springfield Mo. It was at first sight for me and my kids.
My bride kept walking, never stopped to look. I went to work on her right away.
Now its his & her boxes over a one big $ something else.

2002, my stepdad brought me this little thingy with the bbX on it. But for a xB I saw it at the 2003 LA Auto Show and I was in love when I saw the bbX.

Spring of 2004, Barnes and Noble parking lot, in Anchorage Alaska. I think it was an employee car because it was there every evening on my commute until I purchased my own in August. Man what a SWEET car!

It was 2003 on the 105 freeway in so. cal. A white xb passed me and I asked my passenger wtf was that? He replied “it’s the new Toyota.”
3 years later and I’m driving a white xB, go figure.

sounds like many current Scion fans were as skepical as I was when they first saw it. Does this initial interest mean I am destined to end up a 2 boxer?

At the New York Auto Show in Jacob Javitz Center. I believe in 03?.. It was before they were released. I knew nothing about cars then. Didn't even know it was going to be a branch of Toyota. I saw the box and wanted it to be my first car.

Though my first car was an 03 3.8L Pony.. followed by a tC.. I'm trying to trade in the tC for a xB. I'm bored of the tC. It is too much like other cars. Time for some toaster fun.

The first time I saw it was in 2003 at the Jacob Javits center in NYC at the big auto show. Liked it, then lost interest in it and now I own one. Only been a couple days but I love it.
