I have a 2006 xB automatic and I LOVE it. Its got 115k miles on it so it has a lot of life still in it. The problem is I'm moving to a boat/ferry access only island. People who live on the island have their main vehicle parked on the mainland and keep a secondary beater vehicle on the island along with a golf car or two.(most of the island is golf cart only)

I would love to barge my xB over but most of the roads on the island are dirt and its got to be able to hall a 21' boat in and out of the water.

ATVs like a Kawasaki Mule 4 seater aren't cheap so how feasible($) is trying to convert my xB (suspension,tires,gearing) into something similar that i can pull a boat down a wet dirt road?

i did some research even with a suspension upgrade your only looking at 1000lb hauling capacity. For a larger boat you would need 5000lb capacity. The frame of an xB just isn't designed for heavy loads. I'm just going to dry dock the boat and mod the xB to be more dirt road friendly. So larger mud tires an upgraded suspension system to handle the bumps better. I would love to jeep it out take the doors off, real metal front end and bumper, maybe even a roll bar but i doubt thats do able.
