^ you're right about that. that means i'll have this 1 car for the rest of my life! i couldn't be happier. i can not imagine driving - and enjoying - another car like i do the xB.
sorry for going off topic folks.

Hey guys, I know I'm jumping from the xB2 forum, but I have a question. The figures provided by the poster show more units sold in Dec. 07 than Dec. 06. It also says that yearly totals are more in 06 for the old xB than in 07 for the new xB. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the new xB not arrive at dealerships for sale until late April or early May of 07? Based on this info, I would think that there was a definite increase in sales for the new xB in 07 over the old xB in 06. I'm not trying to hate here, but please show me if my logic is skewed.
Sorry guys, I read the original posters last paragraph more carefully. I know the 08's weren't on lots around me in March. I would also say that calling this a "significant decline" is an overexaggeration, especially given the late arrival of the 08's. Only time will tell, ie a full years run.

I'm sure Toyota Motor Corp. would expect a spike in sales after a major redesign, especially after "Camry-izing" the econo box into the mainstream.

I like the new ones but i love my box more!! but thats interesting to know that there was a decrease in sales. I see a lot of both but mostly new ones because everyone drives them now. I see the 1st gen a lot but its hurts me to see one stock which most of them are. i consider the new ones a toaster with curves. have you seen the roof on them? 2 slots for bread! ;)

I hear where you guys are coming from. My point is that without more specific figures, like how many xB1's were sold in 07, then comparing 06 to 07 sales is apples to oranges. I also don't think that the decline in sales during this transition period for the xB is a major deal. I do think that the new xB will be a winner for Scion, and the figures for 2008 sales should be interesting.

The xB caught on because of many things but not for the same reasons people buy xB2s. The xB2 will never reach the xBs status. Maybe the xB3 will get back on track.
