xB in snow
This 20 some inches of snow here in Chicago area has finally brought my little xB to a halt. I got stuck for the first time since 2005.
I got high centered and couldn't move forward or backward. Had to resort to the old shovel it out method.
You left coasters wouldn't know about that stuff.

This left coaster spent 15 years in snow country - 6 in Alaska, 5 in Colorado, and 4 in Utah. You don't want to know it was 67 sunny degrees in the Bay Area today, and 69 predicted for tomorrow.

Yup,a Michigander here, we had about 18 inches here with 2 foot drifts.
Totally destroyed my skid plate on my toaster.
I made it about 17 blocks before i got stuck so that pretty good.
Any one got pics of the under side of an '06?
Trying to figure out if i "lost" anything else of importance under there besides the skid plate.
Oh, and how much lift can you get with a set of hydraulics?
I'd love to be able to flip a switch and gain about 6 inches of clearance on the toaster.

I've hated this winter. There is so much snow piled up and so much of it is crusted in ice that I'm ruining my bumpers.
So far I've cracked the passenger side of both the front skirt *and* front bumper. I've also pulled some of the the connectors out of the passenger side rear skirt so it is not fully attached.
I do have some money put aside for bumper repair/replacement. But I'm stuck driving it around all trashed until spring.

Well, i looked up splash guards and only found the wheel well plastic inserts.
When i typed in "scion xB 06 skid plate" in google the part i'm looking showed up and was labeled a "skid plate".
I'm not a "car guy" by any stretch of the word. I know where the gas, oil, coolant, wiper fluid, spark plugs, and etc go but that's about it. Normally i just drive my cars into the ground because they were all used to start with.
My xB was bought new so it is my baby and i want to keep her in good shape.
After your "suggestion" i checked for a "engine splash guard" and found it again labeled as a "engine splash guard".
So what ever it is, it's destroyed.

My xD is a beast on the snow on stockies. I had to switch teh summers off finally. these little inch snowfalls are killing me with the 20 or less temps we are having. everything is just an ice rink. The xB is garaged with a suffering battery since it's arctic cold now
