xB spoiler

I'd prefer having that "gap" between the spoiler and the edge of the roof. Not only does it push the exhaust down, it also helps during episodes of rain by helping to clear the rear window (don't have to use the wiper so much); additionally, it helps to keep the dust from building up.
Not just a look thing, but in addition to a little more downforce, the factory style spoilers provide this further functionality.

Great! Now I kind of get the idea
Thanks for all your help :D
Thank you Showpaojoe for offering me a stock one
Yes, I might need a factory one to play around with (the cracked one is okay too)
Maybe I can pick it up at the meet tomorrow (If there is a meet tomorrow)
By looking at the functions that factory spoiler offer, I kind of get an idea how I want to make my spoiler
This is what I want to do:
A spoiler ends at the edge of the car instead of the trunk
This spoiler will tilt a little higher than stock
The spoiler will be a little bigger than factory
The spoiler will have a sharper cut at the tip of the spoiler (More like fabulous one)
I will keep the gap between the spoiler and the trunk because it does serve some purpose
It will somehow look like DUCKBILL type
It will require drilling to install since 3M is just not going to work
For those who is interested in one, please just PM me, e-mail me, or post here and put "Keep me posted" I need to know if this project is feasible
If there is enough interest, I will send the car in Monday for making the first prototype.

that sounds like a good design!
will it be able to attach in the same place the factory spoiler does now? otherwise there will be some holes to plug and/or cover up...
is it going to be available in matching colors/carbon fiber?

i don't like the factory spoiler too much...makes the xB look like a shopping cart.
we need these JDM spoilers...they look better and makes the xB look sleeker... not to mention more aggressive. ne idea how much this spoiler cost? and where i can get them?

i think making it fit without drilling
EXCESS holes would be perfect,..
like if it can REUSE stock holes(off a stock wing)
so people with wings already just unbolt and bolt..
or newbies can just drill hole that can accept a oem wing..
and i remember that like other cars. u actually replace your whole top
tailgate lid(like totally remove it and replace it). that would work good.
cuz that way, we just unbolt our tailgate cover(top piece where the wing goes)

anyone seen these anywhere for the xB?

and also in CF but then when i go down to your post your idea sounds
awesome
the only thing i would have to object to your design would be this
It will require drilling to install since 3M is just not going to work
i have the factory wing but the ideas of your design sounds awesome and if the finsih product looks as it sounds im sold

Hi guys
Thanks again for all the feedbacks and suggestions
Tomorrow I will take the car to the shop and start working on it
I know it is not that cool if the installation requires drilling...
I did some searches yesterday and still trying to come up with few installation ideas
Here is what I found out and I need to let you guys know:
The stock spoiler is secured with bolts from the top to the bottom, and cover by the caps on the spoiler to have a clean look. If I design a spoiler that use the factory mounting, for people that does not have a spoiler now will need to drill holes anyways and buy the caps from dealer. Plus my cost will be higher too to make something like this possible, and the price for this spoiler will no longer fits everyone's budget. Sorry, but I have to say no on use the factory holes...
I will try to find out if I can use a clamp to install my spoiler. If the clamp can be use for this installation, the clamp will camp on each side of the spoiler (top of the trunk lip has about a inch of flat area to be clamp on) Then the price for the wing might be several dollars higher but required no effort on installation. :D
Worst-case scenario... The drilling is required... But its not going to be a major drill... At the ends of the top trunk lid, there is a flat surface where the clamp design plans to be. There can be drilled either 1 or 2 holes each side and the spoiler will be attached there. Lets say the spoiler needs to be removed, use 2 plugs painted body color will completely covers up and cannot be seem. (It will be on the roof part of the trunk lid) I will try to design a spoiler that you don't want to take it off once its installed!
