the $5 cold air intake mod
last week i went to my local toyota parts department and ordered a very special trd part
the trd cold air intake inlet!
took me zero time to put it in...
and peek-a-boo from a sexy AEM filter!
for those who want one so the TRD CAI guys dont have all the fun go to your local toyota parts and the number is PTR0352084 and the name of the part should be something like "TRD Cold Air Inlet" and no lie it seriously cost me like $4.75 but it took about a week to come in....

well thats why i chose to do this mod in the summer. when the rain comes back i am going to put the original vent cover back on. that way i get that satisfaction for the summer!
but for more of a permanent fix i think i would switch to a injen filter and get one of the injen hydroshields and a AEM bypass valve for double protection.
but the summer is still here and those mods will be saved for the wetter times and a thicker wallet

Thanks! I see one of these in my near future.
How about this to help with the filter:

My wife called the closest place this morning and the guy she talked to knew exactly what she was asking for but said bring the VIN to make sure it's the right part. When she went there apparently someone else was behind the counter who apparently pulled up the whole TRD intake and was less than helpful about finding just the vent.

yeah i ordered the inlet today its was about 4.74 i think but i called one dealership and they said that it wasn't gonna be available until june, so then i called another place and explained what it was and they weir completely clueless about what i was talking about i had to repeat it again until finally i gave them the part number. but they still didnt know what it was. all they knew is that it was in the computer and it said trd cold air inlet they don't even know what it looks like or what it does.lol

yeah there is no pic for this part... i just wished and hoped that it was the right part. also, its not like its a part that can easily be tracked down. i had to wait a week for my part so just wait my friend!
