East Coast here, New Jersey.

called 3 separate part departments and all saying the part is discontinued on TRD's side. one of the parts people told me TRD will make stuff for roughly 6 months, before they just flatout discontinue their production.

so cant' get this part... anyone else having this problem?

yea... you have to understand that its not made by toyota but rather TRD. the TRD guys ship out parts on their own time..

as for discontinuing production i dont feel that is accurate.. if you cant get it from local email carson or sparks and see if they are willing to drop ship the part to you

Mine came in today!!!! It took less than 5 minutes to install.

For those having trouble getting it let me share some info. The person who was finally able to order it couldn't find it when I gave him the part number. When I told him what it was he finally found it but he mentioned specifically that it was a replacement part. "Replacement" might be the key word to get the parts dept to look in the right place.

Other info from the box:
Description: TRD Cold Air Inlet
Part No: PTR03-52084

It was shipped from:
North American Parts Center Calif
1425 Toyota Way
Ontario, CA 91761

The price was $3.92 before tax. When I spoke with the parts guy this morning he was very surprised to see a part for less than $4 with TRD on it.

I wish they had a matching one for the other side.

Do you have to remove the bumper? or does it just pop in and out?

I removed the two screws holding the lower cover underneath the inlet and one of those popout things in the same panel and was able to easily move that cover out of the way. Then I just reached up and popped out the old one and popped in the new one.

Would the TRD vent fit the other side if it was turned upside down?

Ordered mine and waited about 3 weeks for it to come in...I was going to cut up the stock one for airflow, then found out how much they want for the stock piece. It was something like $38 or more I think...memory fading...Everything on a new model vehicle costs a grip!
