actually, you do (or at least you did). they're what came in the vehicle stock. then again, maybe they're Sylvanias. point being they stock bulbs fit REALLY snug compared to the bulbs i received (one being so loose i can't reasonably use them).

i have no doubts HIDextra will make it right, though. from all the reviews i have read, the customer service is phenomenal. just have to wait til Monday, i guess.

I've encountered the same problem, I have to contact them again as they overlooked my question the first time I asked.

Hi jnaval,

per response to my other customer about bulbs being loose, it could be possible the seal on our bulbs were thinner this time, I will consult with our tech on monday to ask more about this issue and if need be, we can get your bulbs exchanged for new ones so it will fit correctly. Thanks!

Just thought I'd shoot a quick question here. I've had my HID's from you guys (HID Extra) since I purchased my xb in July of this year. Just recently I've had a problem (sent my bulb, ballast and harness in for RMA the 19th, still haven't heard anything about a replacement) and am wondering if anybody here has used a 55w setup for the xb, or if HID extra has any input (their product or anothers) on their experiences compared to the 35w. I'm pretty much just wondering if it would be worth it to "upgrade" to the higher wattage?

Hi,

Since you didn't call our tech to diagnose the problem and instead sent in the WHOLE kit, it takes longer for our RMA testing to find out since probably you didn't write a note on which part is defective so we can exchange it for you right away. In the future, always email or call us first so we can let you know which part needs exchanged so we can get that done right away, sending us back the whole kit actually slows down the process because we have TEST each part out individually while it take only one swap in your car to find out the problem.

Please also understand it takes 4-7 business days (excluding holidays and weekend) for your package to get to us than another 1-2 days for testing and we are on our 4 day holiday at this moment and no one is working at the office until tomorrow. Thanks!

We'll get back to you as soon as we get to your RMA. Thanks!

Also

We don't have 55w ballast for the following reason

1.) 55w is only 15% more brighter than the 33w
2.) because of this brightness, it burns out the bulb and the ballast out faster
3.) 55w is 2-3 times more expensive than the 35w

Therefore it is not worth using or selling the 55w

Michelle, thanks for the input regarding the 55w set up. Also, thanks for responding to my post about the kit.

In response to me sending in the whole kit, that I did not. I called the number listed in your signature, spoke to the woman on the phone who emailed me the instructions on what to do and how to do it. I also enclosed a photo of the problem I was having, and a letter stating the same, with a copy of my original receipt in the box when I mailed everything back. I have no problem waiting the time, and sent only my drivers side equipment in as that was the only side with the problem. Its great that you're testing everything that I sent in, as I don't have the knowhow to diagnose what was wrong with it.

Not sure if you know my RMA specifically, but to make accusations of "probably you didn't write a note" doesn't seem the best customer service to me? Maybe it's me, but your response seems a bit aggressive? I wasn't trying to call your company out in this forum, just looking for some information regarding the 55w setup and saw that your responses on here were quick and informative. I understand that shipping can be an issue and quite honestly am not upset about the turn around time at all. According the USPS my RMA package was delivered 9:59 AM to your facility on Nov. 23rd. With what you quoted for test time and shipping in your response, I know my working equipment should be back very soon. Thanks for your time and your response as it's the weekend and you're still dedicated to answering questions on the forum here.

Hi,

Sorry for the response, I didn't mean to be that straight forward because we do get alot of people sending back the whole kit only to find that they didn't get the polarity switched over. Sorry if I sound a bit too aggressive.

In your case, due to the Thanksgiving holidays, our RMA has been backed up for about 2 business days, please email me your FULL NAME, RMA #, order # and if you know the date that the package was received by us, I can track down the package for you and get your RMA process right away. Thanks for your understanding.

@HIDXTRA: So I had some spare time tonight to test my HID 6000k kit to find out why the passenger side was not igniting as bright as the driver side. I switched the bulbs around to see if maybe it was a bad bulb, but after test firing it again, there was no difference. Which means that the ballast or the relay itself is bad on the passenger side.

Do you want me to try switching around the relays to see if there is any change there, or do you just send a new ballast/relay kit anyway? And if I have to ship my bad kit back, that's fine, but will I have to front shipping or whatever?

Thanks in advance!

hidextra.com sets are pretty good.. I have had mine for 2 months now,, but am looking to replace it with a better kit... 3 things I have issues with..

1,,, the bulb filiments wiggle in the bulb over bumps, even small ones,, very annoying,

2,,, i got a 5k kit (white), and my bulbs were very blue within 2 weeks,, now they are the same blue as my friends 8k.... Not what I wanted,, I wanted bright , not blue...

3,,, the worst part,, my fm radio is shot when the lights are on.. I have 3 friends with different kits that have no issues with fm interference, I have read this happens with cheaper kits...

overall, im happy with them for only $60.. but will be upgrading to a better quality kit.. I called and spoke to a women about my issues, she didn't seem to be very helpfull.. Just wanted me to take it all out and return it to be tested.. really don't have time to be playing swap games..

like I said,, if you can only afford $60 for a kit,, good kit,, but there are better ones out there for about $100-120..

Hey, I've had my HIDs installed for about 2 and a 1/2 weeks now

and recently, the driver side would just shut off.

then a few mins later both sides would flicker (similar to when they turn on)

This is all happening while I'm driving at night so that is how

I notice when the driver side goes out or when they flicker.

It started on Fri but it's been happening everyday so far.

I don't know what the problem is, or if it's a bulb, ballasts, etc.

HI,

The wiggling is not common and the base of that specific bulb might be slightly defective, if you want, you are more than happy to get it exchanged for a new pair you if you want , it is afterall covered in the warranty. THanks!
