HI,

Our slims are more stable and because of it's lighter weight and technology, it might help a bit on the fm issue. Thanks`

HI,

try swapping the ballast from one side to another and see if the problem follows that ballast or if it resolves the issue. Thanks`

It started on Fri but it's been happening everyday so far.

I don't know what the problem is, or if it's a bulb, ballasts, etc.

I got a pair of bulbs a few months back. One bulb was crooked, and both had a very annoying issue where the flame inside the bulb would wiggle around over bumps. I got both bulbs replaced...the new bulbs have the same issue when going over bumps. Wouldn't recommend this kit...it seems like all of their bulbs are this way, because at this point I've had 4 of them. Replacing them is no fun, as I have to pay return shipping, and the reimbursement offered is "store credit" to a place where I probably won't be shopping anymore.

I've had my HIDextra 5000k kit for 4 months... great out of the box, nice tight fit to the bulbs, straight light beams, no wiggle, perfect alignment left & right for the cutoffs, very bright consistent light output left & right, with no change in color since I installed them.

I have no doubt that some of you are having the problems you've described, but electrical technology is rarely perfect, and I know they've sold thousands of these kits. Usually people only speak up to the masses when they are unhappy, so I just wanted to throw out a comment from a happy customer. I'm not endorsing the product, just saying I'm very happy with my purchase.

I definitely agree with you on this, as I, too, am a very satisfied customer.

The only issue I have is with my passenger projector itself, which is dimmer than the driver's side. Initially I thought it was the kit, but now I realize that after testing and switching the components around, the projector housing itself is not broadcasting light properly. I still haven't had time to test it out and try to ascertain the problem.

The quality of the kit was great for the money, and I'd definitely buy another kit from HIDextra in the future.

I too have had problems with this kit. Customer service has been decent, and like others say, they send out a ton of kits. I'm sure, especially at the $60 price point. My point is not to bash this company in any way, but my advice to others who are curious about HID's in general is to do some research. There's literally a ton of companies out there that are selling these kits at various price points. All are not created equal. I've since moved on from this kit to another one that so far works and hasn't given me any problems. A great website to check out for anything related to HID's is HIDplanet.com, read the forums there and gather as much informations as you can before you decide to purchase a kit. Just my two cents. Happy New Year!

A little off topic. Both my 2005 XB and 2008 XB are HID fitted. They work great, but my 2002 Chevy Silverado needs a new kit. What size bulb would I need?

Just wanted to say that I ordered the 5000k system and received it in two days. I put it on in like 15 minutes and it looks awesome!! Works like a charm, no issues. I didn't even have to adjust my headlights after they were in! This is a great system, and at this price, why pay more? For those that say its a bad system, either you have terrible luck or you need someone who knows what their doing install it for you.

HI,

Send me a picture, it could be a defective bulb, sometimes defects don't show up right away, send me an email to info@hidextra.com with your original order # and full name with picture of different color bulbs, try swapping the ballast from one side to the other and see if the problem follows the ballast or the bulb, let me know so I can warranty your parts. Thanks~
