I'm just terrified because they came out really greenish yellow, and I've never seen anyone here in Jacksonville rolling with green lights (apart from underglow).

Now there's always some dude driving around on the interstate with purple lights, and I don't know how he gets away with it.

I was on the fence about HIDs but after reading this thread I was convinced it's the way to go! Just placed an order with hidextra.com

Thanks everyone!

Wonderful! You'll love how much more clarity you have while driving, as long as you purchased a good color like 5000 or 6000.

And if you're worried about blinding people, your xB projectors are designed to NOT blind people. The light is focused really well.

A halogen projector is not designed for hids. It will still glare and blind oncoming traffic.

Lots of people here use HIDXtra kits. I'd highly recommend them. I use HIDs in both my low beams and now my fogs. Plus, they come with 2 year warranties, and the people over at that company take care of you. When I had a bad bulb and needed a replacement, they took care of it pronto.

If you'll notice my friend, I never said that the projectors are designed for HIDs. I only said that they are designed to NOT blind people. I've been using HIDs for a very long time and have never been flashed or have seen my cutoff line (or squirrel finder line as well) going any higher than the window line of an opposite vehicle. Plus, when I first installed them, me being paranoid adjusted the height to make it a little lower. I just wanted to play it safe.

The xB projectors do a pretty good job of focusing a xenon beam. They're really good at it, even though they are designed for halogens only.

There is light above your cutoff line which = glare which = blinding people. I had hids too at one point and I too was never flashed. It doesnt mean I wasnt blinding on coming traffic. Adjusting your lights lower sacrifices light distance so you see less further down the road.

And no the stock halogen projectors dont do that great of a job with hids. The beam width is short and it throws light above the cutoff. They are poor to decent at best. If they did such a good job they'd be factory equipped and approved by the DOT.

Oh for sure, we can agree hids are nice! I actually want to install another one in my low beams. I miss the 5k "pure white" light I use to have. My eyes have gotten use to the h9 bulbs I installed a year ago...

Join. Us. lol

Sorry, but they are just too damn sexy to ignore. HIDs are great, but they suck in cars like Cadillac Escalades and other large, ostentatious cars.

Installed my HIDs yesterday, definitely an improvement from my halogens. I aimed my lights down...looked a bit high when I was test driving. (I'm on NF210s.)

I probably need to verify my adjustment as it seems a bit low.

If you never adjusted your headlights after installing the NF210's, then yea, they'd be shooting too high. Ideally you want to park on a level surface, facing a wall/fence/garage door/etc. with the front bumper of the xB about 25' away. Adjust as necessary so that the top of the low-beam cut-off is 30"-32" above the ground. Many people adjust the driver side just a tad bit lower than the passenger side, to prevent the HIDs from blinding oncoming drivers.

Thanks CIONIDE! I've seen the 25' distance when I did a web search, I've always wondered the height above the ground for the low-beam cut-off...appreciate the guidance! BTW, I also went with the 5000K and the ballast location on one of your previous posts, all worked perfect!
