my HIDs arent working right now . . . one night i went to turn them on and they wouldnt, I checked all the wiring to make sure everything was connected and it was. I flicked the headlight switch on and off about ten times then they just popped on all of a sudden. When I got home and turned off the car they didnt turn off!! So I figured since I played with on/ off switch to get them on, do it again to get em off! So i flicked the switch like 20 times and they finally went off, now they will not come back on no matter what. Ive taken apart and re-connected the whole kit. can someone tell me what to do? If i cant fix these im going to buy a kit from the guy who posted this thread. HELP!!

Hi!

Let me help you first before you spend on another kit. First of all, you shouldn't turn on/off that many times that could possibly cause the chemicals inside the bulb to go bazuck and die and the ballast too.

Now what I need you to do first is if you are able to see the bulbs, do you see it's still clear or grayed out? if it's grayed out, I'm pretty sure your bulbs are dead. If it's not, check your fuses on the connectors to see if you burned out a fuse when you were switching the switch back and forth, sometimes you can't control the lights because only a fuse is out, therefore signal doesn't flow between you switch and the light controls.

If you fuse is grayed out (smoked), then see if you can replace a fuse and see if your bulbs light back up.

If it's not the fuse try swapping your left side bulbs and ballast to your right side, meaning switch the ballast and bulbs but not the wire harness.

Then if that doesn't work, switch the bulbs only and leave the ballast as is.

If all these fell, your kit is pretty much gone.

Also if you can answer me, what parts did you get when you got your kit.
For example for us (hidextra.com) our kits include 2 bulbs 2 ballast 2 wireharness and adhesvie pads. Hid kits from different manufacturers come in different parts so I need to know in order to due the process of elimication to find out where the cause is.

Also what is your bulb type and your car's YR MAKE MODEL.

Let me know.Thanks!

Can you use your replacement bulbs with a MobileHID ballast/relay kit? Just swap the bulbs and plug your red/blue wiring into the MobileHID ballasts?

I have an 08 XB RS5. the kit came with all the same parts ur kit comes with except the adhesive pads, they came with these mounting brackets that Im not a big fan of. anyway thanks for the help. appreciate it. Out of curiosity, are any of your products UL listed? Thanks.

Hi,

No, our HID is not UL listed, UL listings are mainly for household products. Thanks!

Here is an example of our HID installed in a Halogen housing, the car is a 2000 Infiniti I30. The beam pattern is clean and does not scatter like other hid kits, and the projection area of visibility is similar just brighter so you can see better. Thanks~

P.S. beam may vary slightly upon different vehicles such as (YR make model and height, for examples for trucks or SUVs, the cutoff may be higher)

Not quite sure why you would post pics of your kit in a different car, since you even acknowledged that "P.S. beam may vary slightly upon different vehicles".

Page 2 of this thread already has very clear before & after pics that I posted of the 2nd-Gen xB with stock halogen projector beam headlights versus your 5000k HID conversion kit.

HI Cionide, sorry, that was just a template that I posted on all our forums, I should have used yours, I just didn't see it earlier since I never get a chance to scroll back and don't remember where I saw something even if I did

Now I can make another template with yours Thanks!

No problem Michelle. I hope I didn't come across too negatively (that wasn't my intent). I actually posted that more so that others who don't look at the whole thread would know that there are actual pictures of our own model car that they could look at for information and decision purposes. I love the light/lumen output of the 5000k HIDs - it looks absolutely great, but I will say that there is still this tinge of worry in my mind that the lack of a relay will someday come back to haunt me, even though I've seen everything saying that it is not necessary with the digital ballasts.

Ah, sorry, I believe one of my customers here purchased a 2010, but our record only have up to 2009, to be safe, please consult with your owners manual to confirm the bulb type or call your dealership, once you know bulb type, i'll get you the link to your 6000K. Thanks~
