Default Carbon Fiber Fenders

Im planning on getting carbon fiber fenders from AITracing cuz one of my fenders mysteriously got a huge dent in it and the body shop by me wants $620 to fix it, so I figure upgrading is actually cheaper... Anyway I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge on the AIT fenders. Is installing them something I can do myself? Do they need any modifications? Or should I bring em somewhere n have them do it? Any info would be apprieciated, pics are always cool too. Thanks!

I agree. Carbon fiber hoods, okay. Carbon fiber hatch, cool I guess.
Fenders!? I just feel like theystick out like a sore thumb. Same with the doors. Just looks doofy. Almost like a certain VW Golf that was produced in multicolor. Each body color was a different color.

Well, I dont think it looks "doofy" I have a BSP so it wont "stick out like a sore thumb", I personally think it will look good. I plan on doing a Seibon hood in the future as well. Iv seen 2nd Gens with the hood and fenders in carbon fiber and I think it flows very nicely. But hey everyone is entitled to they're opinion, the world would be a pretty boring place if everyones style was the same.

I want carbon fiber fenders as well. I like the way they look. Currently I have a Seibon hood, Seibon top spoiler, xGanster mid spoiler, APC front splitter, Scion logo inserts, and the Scion door pillars, all carbon fiber.

If done right, they can really make a vehicle look great. I love the blue xB from customxbgauges.com

I don't know much about AIT, but I think I'm going to wait till Seibon comes out with a set. Like I said above, I have their hood and top spoiler, and fitments were great!

What brand did you go with AIT or DuraFlex, and how long have you had them?

i picked them up last summer. i got them used but was told they were carbon creations, it didnt have any brand name on them at all. he told me he thought they were a prototype. supposed to go on a sema car and never did. buying new they may fit better than mine did. id suggest having some way to heat the carbon to be able to mold it. at least i was told that wouldve helped me. we used a metal file to shave some of it cuz it didnt fit at all. overall now im happy with them. they stick out a little futher than oem and the passenger side one sticks out alittle under the headlight but you dont notice unless youre up close. id say get the fenders. ive only heard one review about ait and that was that it was wasnt great just an generic brand. ive been looking to get their cf hood but i may just go with seibon

I wouldn't mix brands. If you get the fenders stick with AIT. just my 2 cents.
