Well either that and then doing a very slight tint myself, or a half tint from you. I don't need to start getting tickets. The law states that "(e) Taillamps shall be red in color and shall be plainly visible from all distances within 500 feet to the rear except that taillamps on vehicles manufactured after January 1, 1969, shall be plainly visible from all distances within 1,000 feet to the rear. "
Obviously the black out ones are too dark, but maybe something in between? Maybe I need to do some photoshopping and see how it looks....

Regarding the color, I'm not so sure your interpretation is correct. Take a look at his photos with the brake lights illuminated. Clearly red in my book. I guarantee they're not talking about the color of the lens only, that wouldn't be visible from 500ft, let alone 1000ft. They're talking about the color when illuminated -- brakes applied! I don't see the problem, unless at 1000ft visibility truly is an issue compared to stock.

production mold just finshed cutting. very soon guys..
Those of you worried about that blacked out. The light shines through red. Its hard to get an acurate pic with a cam becuase it looks totaly diff in reallife.
If your worried about getting busted. I would just say dont go with the black.
Here is my veiw on why its not lighter.. blacked, tinted, slightly tinted, there all illegal and if your going to run black ones the cops are not going to look at how dark or even how much light shines through it. Black is illegal period. Cop isint going to give you half the ticket for it not being totaly black, youll get the same ticket. So my veiw is just go for the Black tinted look. I personally wouldnt run this black ones everyday prob the most is drive it to a show.
If your worried about how much light shines through.. it is visable during the day and night. I'll try to get some pics at night

It's one thing to not like them and not buy, but grow up on the stopping production. Many of us are glad to finally have an option to where we don't have to paint the oem's. Also, all the other LED taillights so far, look like crap, but I don't think they should "dump the idea".
