Spent some quality time with my xB this afternoon, washing and waxing in advance of installing a cover to protect it from the elements (including UV)!

Just went back to looking at the photos and I'm having to look some more at the affect of the surround area, particular the silver surround. I'm finding the white with white looks a little "busy", but the silver provides a genuinely new look. Would really help though, to see how it looks with eyelids as well. (Preference remains no surround so far.)

Thanks for the invitation to input !

Although I'm no great hand at Photo Shop, I think the following doctored images roughly convey the appearance of the different upper grill samples when combined with ForjWorks eyelids:

All black powder coat

Powder coat matched trim with black fins

All powder coat chrome or chrome silver paint

Custom emblem version

Powder coat matched trim with powder coat chrome or chrome silver paint fins

Nice job Trevor. Can you do one like the first picture (all black), but add a mirror image of the top grill, so that the fins splay out in the opposite direction, in place of the bottom grill? And maybe one more just like it, but with the center of the bumper blacked out also.

TIA

Thanks Trevor, I definitely think the first one looks better than the Forj pics with the fins angled the same direction on both the top and bottom grills.

The bottom one looks like it's ready to swallow something, but I'm not sure if the mouth look is a little too cartoonish (think CARS) or not.
Change the eyelids to black, and it will absolutely look like a face.

Number three above is my personal favorite -- looks good with the emblem too. The only thing is I'd only want the facing edges of the grill bars to be silver (is this what he means when he says "tips"), the sides would be better black. Silver accents against the black would look really nice.

Just for grins, here's how it might look with the inverted bottom grill.

Looks goofy (bottom grill looks wider than the top) with the upper grill trimmed in silver and the bottom in black.

I have fogs anyway, so I don't really see myself changing the lower grill.

PS. I don't think I'd care for silver in both grills -- starts getting too busy looking for me. I think the reason the silver works for me in the upper is because it complements the lighting assemblies.

Just kludged this together showing the chrome tipped and trimmed upper grill and the fogs in the bottom:

And now the same thing with the all black upper grill:

I don't know, all black may well look the best to me.

OK, here are three more. A chrome top and bottom and a black and a chrome with fogs and a bottom (bottom mirroring the upper).

Just thought I'd throw one more out that has silver top and bottom, but not the bottom trim -- includes fogs.

grill update..

sorry guys for the long process but items like this take time to create.

currenty we almost have all the fitment issues squared away and all tweaks to the design is almost done..

We had to make a bunch of test models out of MDF to get the fitment exact. The final cut will be cut in billet. Thank god for MDF or else we would have wasted a ton of Billet.
