H9 low beams?
Since so it's easy to mod H9 bulbs to fit in place of H11, has anyone here done this yet or will I be the first? I have a set of Sylvania H9s on order from Amazon. I should have them installed within a week. IMO they should work great with the XB2's headlight design and the extra 10W isn't enough to cause much concern about the stock wiring. I also like the fact that H9s produce a very white light. We're not talking HIDs here but hey. it's only $25 to find out how well they work.
H11 = 55W/1200 lumens/axial element
H9 = 65W/2100 lumens/axial element
H11 = 55W/1200 lumens/axial element
H9 = 65W/2100 lumens/axial element

Yeah, they don't line up exactly. I know that I have to mod one of the metal tabs and remove a plastic key from the electrical socket. No big deal.

I haven't looked into high beams yet since the stock ones are already pretty good. What bulbs did you use?

Got the H9 low beams installed. They make a huge improvement in visible light output and project a very white light. Probably around 4300k. Modding the mounting tabs and sockets took about 15 minutes for both bulbs and couldn't be much easier. For $25 I'm very pleased.
BTW, the Sylvania H9 bulbs I bought from Amazon are Osram.
