Oh come on, man! Don't ridicule, that's just not cool !

He'll have a pretty wild ride and a definite show statement! Different people value different things -- you got to allow them space. To each their own !
Commenting on someones idea I may not like doesn't in any way deny them the right to mess up their car.
Well, you know, in many people's minds, lowering springs mess up the car too -- all this stuff is relative. At least to me, it doesn't make sense to be judgemental. I probably wouldn't have the nerve to do that (I'm too savy -- right?), so maybe he has a bigger pair than you realize ! As long as he's enjoying himself with his car, that's probably the most important thing !

Team Echo's or whatever is the only one to my knowledge. When I worked at a shop, we installed some GT Factory 180 hinges on a 06 Denali. Hinges were sub par, IMO. We may have had a bad batch or something, but they weren't worth the price that was paid.

yeah see thats the problem... gt factory is a big price but most of the product isnt too hot..... i bought mine from FBI rides because we havent had any problems with their hinges and they make and distribute a nice product!!!!

do what you want to do, its your car and as long as you're happy with it.... f*ck the rest.

PS there is no way in hell 22's ride better than any smaller diameter wheels. Just not physically possible unless you're 22's have bigger tires w/ more sidewall than before. Otherwise no way homie.....

I'm not a big fan of 22's suicide doors or anything that was mentioned in this thread but thats my personal preference. It's a public forum so you'll get good and bad comments.... thats what you get for posting, just enjoy your ride and all will be good.

+1, how did this come out? Did this ever come into fruition? He seemed pretty enthusiastic about it...

His last activity on SL was 16 months ago, so I'm guessing it never happened.

Maybe somebody who has done it will see this thread & chime in.

I always wondered about suicide doors on today's cars. Way before my time, suicide doors were basically square, so the load factor on the hinges were the same. With the doors of today, the hinge load area is much smaller, almost 2/3 less. I'd be interested to find out how much reinforcing needs to be done for a rear position hinge.

Like the above comments, I am not a fan of suicide doors. There is no point to them.. However, its up to you!
