Default Interesting eBay find: Hood Dampers

Clicky Clicky

Interesting but I am not sure I would spend the money unless I was showing a lot with the hood up.

it is not only for showing. but when you do any work under the hood. that bar can get in your way at times. this gives you full access to the whole engine bay with a drop light

Nice addition for $60 (including shipping) that I think Scion should have done. This is the new millennium, not the last century.

don't do it.
alot of people (including me)have been having problems with this type of set up because it puts too mch stress on that one part of the hood and will end up bending the hood.
this one is 10x better

Redlines are not yet available for 08s and could be a couple of months wait for them.
The ones on Ebay are only thru 2007..

I used the redlines on my tC and loved them. I also used them on my CF hood on the tC. You just have to be careful when closing the hood not to tweek it.
I wish redline would hurry up on the 08.

yah thats the ONLY draw back of the red line is the rivets, but its not hard.
i went with the first kind because i didn't want to drill any holes.
man big mistake now my hood is bent, i should have gone with the radlines.

i noticed it right away and took them off, it looked worse but i bent it back a bit. you can barely see it from the out side

The thing is as they mount to closely to the hood hinges.. If you look at their pictures, the mounts are within inches of the hinges, making 80% of the hood just balancing there with no support.. Now couple THAt with pushing your hood closed & you're just asking to bend that sucker...
I say get some that mount more 'mid-way' front to back on your hood. even if you have to make holes... I mean drilling holes is nuthing.. Lookat at how many holes are in your hood & body anyways.. hundreds.. 2 more aint gonna matter at all.. just cover any bare metal with paint after you drill & before you attach hardware..
just my 2 cents...

Agreed jimmbomb; that's why we're all waiting for Redline Tuning to come out with theirs (except Cory).
