Interesting eBay find: Hood Dampers
#29
I haven't put mine on yet, but in what way do they make the hood stick up? I see three ways it could happen. Pick an option.
A. When the hood is closed and the struts are compressed, they are still trying to "lift" the hood, and cause the hood to bow under the load.
B. When the hood is closed and the struts are compressed, they are too long, and they cause binding at the hinges and cause the hood to bow under the load.
C. The struts themselves are too big in diameter and contact the hood as it closes, most likely at the point they mount to the fender.
I find C to be most likely, and if that is the case, make sure the bodies of your struts are towards the hinge as seen in the picture on Ebay.
If B is the case, check the hinge mount, it looks like it has some adjustment to it.

Brian at Redline expects them to be available in the next month or so, and should have two models:
QuickLIFT for about $70 with a 2 year warranty
QuickLIFT ELITE for about $120 with a 4 year warranty
These prices are what they sell the 1st Gen dampers for, but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that they are going to try and keep the pricing about the same.
