Default jLevi Puddle Lamp System

I am about to install the jLevi Puddle Lamp System on my 2008 Scion xB and I was curious if there was any way to create an easy direct connection like the Scion tC instead of tapping into the dome light wires. If you look on this thread https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie....php?p=1531804 and scroll down a little bit, you'll see the direct connection into the fuse box panel instead of tapping into the dome light wire. This allows the car to turn on these puddle lamps when unlocking and locking your car allowing the passenger to view the ground (a lot of mud etc.) when entering/leaving the vehicle. The reason why I'm avoiding the tap-in-dome-wire method is because if i turn on my dome light while driving on the highway i'll look like a flying ufo because they will turn on while driving

Any help is appreciated thanks for the support! Oh btw if anyone else is interested in these lights, by all means check it out!

I believe you can get the door wire in the driver kick panel. This should be the same wire used in a alarm install. This would only have the lights work when the door is open. Otherwise you may need to install a switch to turn them off when you are in the car? Can you post up some more info and pic of install. they look neat but ive seen some other brands sell for much more. I wonder whats missing.
good luck and cant wait to see the finished results

I want the kit to fade in/out parallel with the domelight, so when I unlock/lock the car or open the doors, the lights come on. I guess I will be looking for the power source for the dome light~

if you can get it to work, plaese post up a diy. i love the look of these lights. if it turns on when you turn on the dome lights when driving, then that will suck though. any ideas to keep that from happening?

I believe I read in the tc thread that they will not turn on if you use the dome light inside... If they do come on with the inside light the only way I could see is to put them on a 3 way switch (on, off, and door)Ill have to look more into it.

Yeah, if you connect it to the wires that connect to the dome light, yes the lights will come on while driving if you turn that dome light on. I'm sure there's another way on our xB's and I took a look at it, and it seems like I found it. I will post pics up tommorow ASAP.

I'll get some better pix today hopefully, as for wiring and mounting... I didn't feel comfortable with drilling screws, so I used 3M Scotch double sided mounting squares and it seems like its working extremely well so far. The wiring was really not that bad, I'll create a DIY ASAP. All LED's are hidden.

tryin to make a good DIY that even a monkey can do this, its kind of hard when ur friend is borrowing ur digital camera, I will receive the camera sometime this weekend and post a DIY ASAP. thanks for the patience guys

for those that just want to start the install,

same installation as the tC [link is posted in my original post up there^] positive is connected the same with the female connector, only thing different is that you tap into the brown wire for the negative. If you don't have a brown wire, pm me and I'll tell you which wire to tap into, im sure everyone has the brown wire [located near the same insert as the tC] IF you want a professional install, i suggest u wait till i post a DIY cuz I made a lot of mistakes, effed up some wires. so learn from my mistake. remember patience is a virtue.

Bump cause I'm thinking about getting these. I haven't looked under the dash yet, but does anyone know if the place near the fuse box on the xB is the same as the tC(pictured in the link in the first post)?
