It depends on the LED...
For small type bulbs.. there are LED that are brighter then incandescent bulb...
LED can be design as bright or brighter....
I was only talking about the 7440 reverse light bulb, as it relates to the amount of light thrown out away from the light fixture, that illuminates the area behind and away from the vehicle when sitting in the driver seat and backing up. Yes, when looking directly at the fixture it does appear brighter with some LED bulbs.

I have some that are bright as or even brighter....
Like I said, it all depends on the design....
But comparing price per lumen... incandescent hands down....

There is no window tint on the windshield... cause of the limo (5%) tint makes it look darker from the front..

It is illegal to have 5% on the front side window....
From Nevada law, you can have what ever % from rear side windows and rear window...
But for the front side window, you have have 25% or higher...

On my Celica I have 50% tint on the windshield.. which is really illegal....

I haven't see any HID kit made for 7440 size, did you had to custom mount it??
I'm not even sure if it's practical to have HID for reverse light... since it's rarely used....
But I'm sure you can see the rear easily...
