Default Need to replace Side Mirror on my xB

Hi there! I have a 2010 xB and the drivers side mirror got whacked.
I already bought the whole unit to replace it and am hoping someone on here has experience or has read something.

Thanks so much!

Just pop off the tweeter pod on the inside and you'll see the three bolts that hold the assembly in place. Is more than just the painted portion damaged? If not the cover pops off and can be replaced seperately.

Took the words right out of my mouth literally, pop off the tweeter and there unscrew the bolts inside, where did you get the mirror?

you should disconnect the wiring from the bulb itself. take off the plastic sheilding and follow the wires

now is it also a plug in that area or would I need to cut and splice anything?? I found the mirror whole assembly for about $70 shipped and good thing I dont need the painted cover because mine is still usable...but wondering if I need to remove the door panel in order to disconnect the power to it or what--- any information about unplugging the power without cutting would be greatly appreciated!

Default Disconnecting power to side mirror

I know this was a long time ago, but was wondering what you ended up doing to disconnect the power for the side mirror. Did you find a connector behind the door panel, or did you end up cutting and splicing?

There is a plug behind the Side panel cover for the tweeter.
Just pull the speaker out and up and you'll see the wire for the mirror.

Pull it up an inch or so and you'll see the plug.

Would you be able to attach a picture or a couple of pictures of what the connector looks like. I can’t seem to see it as I’m doing my repair and obviously don’t want to cut any wire I shouldn’t.

I was surprised there weren’t many videos online of this. All the old threads I’ve found on various forums are full of dead links.

I'm in the same boat. When the mirror came off it ripped the wires out of the door. I was hoping the new mirror assy came with a wire and a plug I could just reattach inside the door. All the videos on YT are for Gen1 or other scion models.

Did it actually rip out the plug from the door or just wires. If just wires then the plug is still inside the door just below the tweeter panel and the new mirror comes with wires and the connector to plug into the one in the door.
