So what do you guys recommend for a new H11 bulb?

You could easily mod a 65W H9 to fit or better yet, go HID. I tried the H9s and they were much brighter (2000 vs 1200 lumens) but one bulb went bad in only a few months so I just put the H11s back in. I have no idea why the H9 failed so soon. I thought Osram were good bulbs.

I think I posted a DIY for the H9 mod about a year ago if you're interested in searching for it.

The H9 is a high beam bulb that doesn't fit in the H11 socket, but is close enough that with a small amount of cutting & trimming to both the bulb and the socket it can be modified to work.

This isn't ScionFred's DIY, but it's the same thing from an RX-8 forum:

Thanks CIONIDE. I originally got the idea from Daniel Stern Lighting and that RX8 link is where I got the details to make it work. I'm not so sure I ever posted a DIY for that but at my age I can't remember what I did last week, let alone a year ago. I do appreciate it when young bucks like you help out an old man like myself.
