I don't understand, why do you need bumper plugs? Isn't that what you remove in order to install the kit?

Currently my license plate is attached to my front bumper with two screws, I will need to use the plugs to fill the holes left behind once I install the mount kit.

Here it is, install was pretty painless, it was packed nicely. It does stick out a tad far, but you really don't notice it unless you look at it straight from the side. Also the tint cover is coming out a ton darker than it really is on these pictures, sorry about that.

Yea i'd like another half inch, but, you gotta admit, the only time you notice it sticking out is from the side shot.

depending on the way they designed it you may be able to cut it and thread it again.

anyway you can get some pics of just the tow hook so i can see if the best way to shorten it?

I agree it sticks out to much. I think a 1/2 shorter would look great.

To answer your question and concern about the gap between the plate and the bumper:

We didn't randomly pick that length for the tow hook.
The tow hook was purposely designed at that length.
The gap between the bumper and rear plate needs to be that distance to avoid damage to the bumper cover.

Our design allows you to mount the plate at various location.
If you mount the plate offset to one side, the edge of the plate will be closer to the bumper.
Therefore, the gap will eliminate the plate from ever touching the front bumper.
As an added safety measure, we even include two rubber stoppers.

IMPORTANT: If you wish to eliminate the plate from ever hitting the bumper, PLEASE do not alter the length of the tow hook.

Thanks

Makes sense, maybe I will try moving it more over to the side to hide the gap. One other question for you guys. Is it normal for it to have a slight amount of play for instance if you push on the top or bottom of the plate you can feel it give some. It doesn't rotate since tightening it, and I know I got it pretty tight.

Overall I am impressed with the kit.

The plate will have some minor flexing especially if you mount the plate offset to one-side. This is normal. Please be sure that in addition to the lock washer you also need to install the two washers included with the kit. These washers will help eliminate some of the flex in the plate.

Mike @ PTUNING
