One thing that worries me and and might make me shorten the tow hook are those @$$holes who park extremely close on the other side of you in a parking lot.
People are commented on how you can't tell how long it sticks out when you look at it from the front.
Well people who park across from you in a parking lot probably won't people at tell either.

Who knows, maybe there is a chance I installed mine wrong, I really don't think it sticks out too far the pictures make it look worse than it is, plus I have the frame and the tint cover so that adds some. We need some more pics to know for sure. If anyone has this installed can you post some pics?

So around 6:50 ups finally showed up at my door step and there she was. I didnt have much time to take pics of the tow hook bolt but i mounted it and took these pics.
Basically when you look at it from the front it looks straight.
If you look at it from the license plate level from both sides it looks straight.
Even looking down above it looks straight.
But you look at ir standing up from each side by the headlights it looks like its crooked, That mainly has 2 do with the curveness of the bumper and the minor lip that the bumper has by each tow hook.
Now basically after looking at the measurements, if you want to shorten the tow hook you really only have a "little" less than an inch. and the reason why is because the the screws that are being used. In order to not stratch up your side bumper from the end of the screws your best bet would be to shorten from the thread side about a half an inch. If your worried about it unscrewing itself over time from bumps and dips a good heavy duty lock tite should do just fine if you decide to cut it.
I didnt have time today so over the weekend you guys know what i'll be doing and i'll repost up some pics later. Sorry the measurement pics are blurry it was kinda trying to hold up the measuring tape and trying to take pics at the same time.

I say about 1/2 inch would be perfect. you can always add some protection to the bolts sticking through the plate...
As far as cuting it down, I believe you will have to machine the collar down from where it sits now. once its snugged down the collar centers the bolt in the hole and prevents it from going in any further. Just cutting the threads wont do it.

I just went to Home Depot and bought some white rubber plugs and painted them with my touch up paint. Or keytechniques (scionlife s/n) sells the plugs i believe for the bumper holes as well.
