Default switchback led bulbs

i guess this is a sort of well kept secret? when you turn on the parking lights (the first "step" on the stalk) it is white. when the hazards/indicator is on it turns orange. its quite interesting.

i have to say that this is a very expensive bulb. youre looking at about 25-28 a piece. and i am not sure about the legality of this bulb. i think its illegal to have a color changing bulb cause of police impersonating issues. but dont quote me on that. also having LEDs in the headlight is also an issue because heat shortens the life of the individual bulbs. you can see in the video that the front 3white LEDs are burned out.

enough words. now the video.

Thanks a lot Mike, that was very helpful. The Autolumination posting on their website is not only misleading, it is downright fraudulent. Their "CLICK HERE To See How This Operates" link shows only the amber LED's blinking on and off when in the turn signal mode:
http://autolumination.com/switchback.html

I now understand the unquestionable legality issues since the white LED's blink in between the amber ones when the turn signal is on... it absolutely looks like an official emergency lighting set-up... could be fun and entertaining, but definitely not legal.

switchback LED turn signal bulbs have been around for a some time now.
i was looking at them on ebay about 2 years ago.

i wasn't to worried about the cops, i just don't like the idea of modifing the stock wires with the resistors and all that for the lights to flash correctly.

most cops will not pester you for small things like this unless they catch you doing other (worse) things and you give them a bit of a problem, then yeah, they will slap you will anything they can find.

i have had mine since Feb 08 without any problems from the cops and none of the leds have burned out yet. I am keeping my fingers crossed about the later because I did not think they would last this long.

oh one more thing. like installing LEDs anywhere in the flasher circuit, because LEDs draws significantly less power the car has a burn-out warning and thats fast flashers. either get a new flasher or some load-equalizers.

and what i meant by well kept secret was that honest only a handful know/have this type of bulb..
