Default Thinking of adding fog lights to my 2010 xB

Was wondering if that would affect my warranty either way. It currently has 12k miles on it.

I've been wanting to modify my car for a while now and this would be the first real thing I've done to it. Is this something easy enough that I could cut my teeth on it or should I get it done at the dealership or car shop.

been wanting to add some too but im holding off on it gonna work on my engine... it should void your warranty since it could be considered a bolt on. any brand you looking forward to buy?

Not really sure on the fog lights yet, but if it does void your warranty then I might hold off on it then.

nah i know it doesnt, but considering the fog lights deal with electrical system and running wires etc etc depending on the setup... meant to say SHOULDN'T

Fog light accessory install isn't hard and doesn't void warranty. Just takes a little time and care.

If you purchase the Scion fog lights and follow the directions to the letter with installation, you're fine. It won't void your warranty.

Now if you installed aftermarket fogs that somehow knocked out your electrical system, that could potentially void it.

Here are the installation instructions for the OEM Scion/Toyota fog lights, so you can see what's involved:
http://www.trdsparks.com/install/PT857-52080inst.pdf

The electrical is pre-wired for them. The most involved part of the install is removing the bumper, and cutting the lower grill. Not difficult at all if you just take your time, follow the instructions, and be careful with the cuts... and this will NOT void your warranty if you do it properly.

I doubt you'll void your warranty installing the OEM fog light kit. I installed my own OEM fog light kit and I'll vouch for how easy it was, hardest part was removing the bumper but even then, it was easy.

I installed the OEM fog lights on my 2011... I think the hardest part was cutting the bottom black vent not that it was hard I just didn’t want to make a wrong cut. But everything is already there its prewired for you it’s pretty easy. When you take your bumper off make sure to put some kind of blanket or have someone help you I dropped my bumper on one corner taking it off and I put a small ding in it... just touched it up with some touch up paint.

wow nice find on the instructions. I just find it funny for a Toyota to have a hack saw in there directions. Anyone know if taking the bumper off is really required?

Yea you can only remove the lower grille from the inside of the bumper...its easier with the bumper off...I dont know if you get the car high enough for you to remove the lower splash guards and work like that but always seen and read everyone has taken their bumper off...and if you do it might as well upgrade the bulbs to HID since your already there...lol

No matter which fog lights you go with I strongly suggest getting the 4-wire oem fog light switch from a dealer. As already said, all the wiring and relay is already installed. The harness plugs in front are for H11 bulbs but you could cut them off and splice on whatever connectors your fogs require.

The ebay "oem" clone fogs are crap and using the included 3-wire switch will kill your dimmer circuit or worse. Also, one of my ebay fog lenses cracked within a year and one of the crappy bulbs burned out too. The oem switch isn't cheap but it's well worth it.

Adding the OEM fog light is very easy, since wiring are already prewired from the stock.
Just need to remove the bumper..
Cut out the grill opening for the foglight (it's already marked where to cut)
Then mount the fog light, then connect the harness..

From under the steering wheel, there is a area for switch to install (comes with the OEM fog light)
Remove the panel on the bottom search for the harness then connect the switch.
It's all done... very simple and clean install

Adding OEM is a snap. No worries on tapping your existing wiring. Only downside is they are only enabled when your headlights are on if you like to go for the fogs and markers cruising look.
